Event Description

Join us to celebrate the unveiling of the Portland-Utrecht Friendship City Mural. This mural is a lasting symbol of the strong, cultural relationship between the city of Utrecht (The Netherlands) and Portland. The design of the mural is inspired by the "DE STIJL" art movement that was founded in 1917 in the Netherlands. The mural has been painted on the side and front wall of the "Popina Swimwear" building in the Hollywood district of Portland. Designed by graphic artist Menno Anker the mural has been implementen by Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) students under leadership of muralist Adam Ciresi. This event is part of a trio of events celebrating DE STIJL in this October. This is a Portland/Utrecht Friendship City cultural event.
