For those who aren't aware of this yet, but there is the 'Fabric Depot' on SE 122nd and Stark in Portland where one can find some Dutch and Indonesian things. For instance: speculaas koekjes, dropjes, stroopwafels, sambals, kecaps and more. And around Christmas time there are plenty of TaaiTaai poppen among other things. They used to sell amandelbrood too but I haven't seen those in awhile. Jammer. I love them! So much for this tidbit.

Unfortunately, my wife and my dutch isn't nearly as good, so we would love to keep up his conversational Dutch hear in Portland.
Therefore, does anyone know any kids or adults who are able to offer dutch language babysitting? Maybe 1-2 evenings a month. We live in NW…

I am a retired Police Officer from Southern California, and now live in Bend. In Holland, our family lived in Haarlem and Roermond. That was 55 years ago. We came to Pasadena, California, March 12, 1962. Went to Jr High, High School & USC in California. I had to relinquish my Dutch Citizenship to keep my job as an Officer. Post career, relocated to Bend.
On the first Saturday of the month, our Dutch Club here in Bend get together for coffee. Are there similar events in…

Legislation has been changed. The moment you got AOW used to be the month you aged 65. Steps wise this is changing into 67 towards the year 2017. Depending on yourmore precise birthday: for 2016 you have to add 6 - 9 months to your birthday !
